Children, communities of color, the poor, and the elderly are among the most vulnerable to heat related deaths and extreme weather. That’s why I’m proud to be joining the #PeoplesClimate March in NYC to stand up against carbon pollution!
The EPA is fighting back by setting limits on carbon pollution, but they are under attack from climate deniers and Big Coal.
#ActionClimate and take a stand with me to back the EPA in the fight to control dangerous carbon pollution by signing this petition: http://ow.ly/zhxsC

Today we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act. Thanks to advocates like Sheila Wellstone, a huge champion of the bill, Congress recognized the severity of the harm caused by violence against women and our need for a national strategy.
The Violence Against Women Act has improved the criminal justice response to violence against women and has ensured that victims and families have access to the services they need to achieve safety and help rebuild their lives.

Today more than ever, we must break the silence and carry on Sheila’s work to put an end to all violence against women.
